Ladies and Gentlemen. Are you ready? To take another trip. From new school to old, from groovin to dancin’, from singin’ to bangin’ your bead, from likin’ to lovin’ good music. Dj Merlin and Blind I are proud to present the latest installment in the Be Advised Series. Dj Merlin’s Be Advised Vol. 2. If you listen closely the songs are inspired by love because it’s something that your heart beats for and that was my inspiration for this edition. Who says talking about love has to always be mushy and in slow songs? Do it Behind The Groove and its a whole nother experience.

Be Advised Volume 2 is twice as long as the previous (more music, more beats:) and has a more eclectic blend of artists thru a wider range of genres, and no matter what you listen to or when you listen to it, this should always fit right in. As always its funky and gets you moving any time of day with new music from the likes of Sy Smith, Peter Hadar and Persia to throw backs from Teena Marie, Me’Shell Ndegeochello and Michael Jackson.

Okay okay okay. It’s now the umpteenth installment of #TreatedTuesday and we have yet to throw any of the music on the site. Shameful, considering the HNIC of Blind I, Sulaiman is a part of this Chicago rap collective. None of the Blind I staff members ever post their stuff on here, so it’s my duty to make sure you all partake in the goodness of their endeavors. “Formal Introduction” is a fitting one to start with because most of the crew appears on this track. ODDISSEE-ODD RENDITIONS

Last week, we posted the video for Oddissee’s fresh remix of Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar.” Now, the DMV producer/emcee just released Odd Renditions. On this project, he also reworks songs from Bon Iver, Metronomy and K-Os. Very unique spin on each one and the EP will definitely hold you down until he releases his next full-length album. Haz Solo recently spent some time in London and on a 19-hour layover in Philadelphia, he made these beats! In his own words: Most of that time was spent watching the Philly news and a couple NBA playoff games. My UK brother, propa, hooked me up with a gang of drums and songs to listen/sample. All tracks were produced using items in that folder. It’s only 8 tracks and about 10 minutes, but Haz put in a lot of work on these and it’s an enjoyable listen. Check it out!

Such a cool video! In Oddissee’s own words: I wanted to share some remixes & edits I put together of various tracks. I remixed songs by K-Os, Bon Iver, Metronomy & one of my favorite artists of all time, Marvin Gaye. After recording vocals to all of them, I felt it was only right to slap a cover on it & release it. The EP is called, “Odd Renditions” & will be available for FREE download on May 15th. The video was done by editing several pieces of footage found of Marvin Gaye performing the song.
